Logistics hubs that reflect the metropolitan area’s ambitions

The Chamber fully supports the implementation of two logistics hubs and an economic development corridor along highway 30, as planned by the Government of Québec’s Bill 85

Seven recommendations:

1.  Create ambitious logistics hubs that meet industry needs and expectations.

2.  Deploy logistics strategies in conjunction with the Port of Montreal.

3.  Fully develop the project to exploit the potential of the highway 30 corridor and the two hubs.

4.  Take advantage of funds earmarked in the Government of Canada’s Transportation 2030 strategic plan to maximize the potential of the Québec-Ontario maritime corridor.

5.  Immediately evaluate the effects of economic activity on the South Shore highway network to plan solutions to ensure the fluid movement of trucks.

6.  Develop a strategy to ensure fluid travel and movement of goods to and from the Port of Montreal during major work planned for the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel.

7.  Complete the extension of L’Assomption Blvd. and Souligny Ave. by 2019-2020.
