The Institute of public administration of Greater Montreal is inviting you to its 2005 Annual Conference

The Board of Trade is proud to be joining forces with the Institute of public administration of Greater Montreal to hold its 2005 Annual Conference - Relations between the centre and the regions: in search of balance and an integrated approach for Montreal.

The confenrence, which will take place on Friday, April 29, 2005, from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Saint James Club, will be dealing with recent developments in the relationship between policy decision-making centres and the regions, the current challenges inherent in these relations and how they can evolve.

The following issues will be addressed:

The relationship between the new public administration and the maintenance of regional capabilities
• 
Asymmetry in policy and administrative agreements
• 
Modernization of service delivery to Canadians and how it impacts on relations between the Centre and the regions
• 
Regional agencies and their position vis-à-vis the Centre and institutions: greater effectiveness?

Relations between cities and population centres, and between boroughs and the City of Montreal: first report
