Trade mission to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates:
Quebec businesses set to benefit from the construction sector boom

Montréal, March 6, 2008 – From March 7 to 14, 2008, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal's team of international trade experts, the World Trade Centre Montréal, is accompanying Quebec constructionbusinesses on a trade mission to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. This mission is sponsored by Export Development Canada (EDC) in partnership with the Ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation du Québec (MDEIE).

“The Board of Trade is very proud to guide businesses in their discovery of the extraordinary potential of new markets in a region of the world that is experiencing remarkable growth. In fact, many large-scale construction sector projects will start up in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in the coming years. These business opportunities represent 830 billion Canadian dollars according to Economic Development Canada. We must therefore ensure our presence and visibility in these rapidly developing markets,” stated Isabelle Hudon, president and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.

This is the very first time that the Board of Trade has organized a trade mission to this part of the world.Participating businesses will have the opportunity to meet key players in the construction sector and attend networking activities, all while benefiting from the expertise of veteran advisers in international trade.

Through its team of experts at the World Trade Centre Montréal, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal provides international trade services to the greater business community, with the support of Canada Economic Development.
