Rémi Racine appointed Chairman of the board of Accesum Inc. (Stationnement de Montréal)
Montréal, April 30, 2010 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is proud to announce today the appointment of Rémi Racine as Chairman of the board of Accesum Inc. He succeeds Roger Plamondon, who will remain a member of the board of directors. Accesum is the general partner of Société en commandite Stationnement de Montréal and acts on its behalf. The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is the limited partner of Accesum Inc.
Mr. Racine knows the city’s urban travel issues inside and out and has an expert understanding of leading-edge technology. The Board of Trade is very pleased to be able to count on his expertise to continue the development of Stationnement de Montréal, in keeping with the vision instituted by Roger Plamondon.
“Montréal’s development and vitality are incredibly important to me, and I look forward to my mandate as Chairman of the board of Accesum,” Rémi Racine said. “Stationnement de Montréal is a leader in developing innovative solutions for urban travel and is recognized internationally for its use of leading-edge technology to provide effective parking management.”
“I would like to thank the members of the board of directors for their confidence in me and particularly Roger Plamondon, whom I am taking over from and who has steered this organization brilliantly for over eight years,” Rémi Racine said. “It was under his chairmanship that Stationnement de Montréal developed and deployed the new computerized parking stations, dynamic parking signage and BIXI self-service bikes. That’s an impressive track record, and I’m going to devote all of my energy to continuing the development of the organization by building on his accomplishments.”
Rémi Racine is President and CEO of A2M, a company he founded in 1992. For the past 18 years, he has helped make A2M a world leader in the video game industry. Under his leadership, A2M appeared on both the Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ and Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies™listsfrom 2006 to 2008. A2M is the largest independent producer of video games in Canada, employing 500 talented developers in its studios in Montréal and Santiago, Chile. Before dedicating his talents to new media, Rémi Racine spent some 10 years in real estate management and investment.
The Board of Trade would like to thank the outgoing directors for their incredible contribution to the success of Stationnement de Montréal. They are: Danielle Melanson, Partner, Melanson Roy & associés, Ed Goral, Administrator, Pierre Ouellet, Administrator, and Robert Racine, Partner, Kenniff & Racine Executive Search. The Board of Trade would also like to thank the directors who are renewing their commitment to Stationnement de Montréal: Lise Aubin, Vice-President, Operations and Administration, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, Marc Blanchet, Director of transportation – planning and major projects for the infrastructure, transportation and environment department of the City of Montréal, and Pierre Reid, Senior Director of human capital for the City of Montréal. The Board of Trade welcomes the arrival of new directors who will be lending their expertise to the organization. They are Marie-Claude Gevry, Partner, consulting services, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, and André Goyer, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, GFI Solutions Group Inc. Finally, the Board of Trade would like to make a special mention of the contribution of Roger Plamondon, who remains a member of Accesum’s board.
