The Board of Trade invites Mélanie Joly to join the economic debate during the campaign for mayor of Montréal

Montréal, October 7, 2013 – In light of the Leger poll results published today, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has invited Mélanie Joly to cross swords with the three other main candidates for mayor of Montréal during the debate on major economic issues. The debate will take place on October 21 and will be broadcast on RDI.

“The Board of Trade is proud to offer the public and the business community a comprehensive debate on the economic issues, bringing together all candidates who have a real chance of being elected,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “Once the Board of Trade became aware of the results of the Leger poll released this morning, it invited Ms. Joly to take part in the debate, alongside Mr. Bergeron, Mr. Coderre and Mr. Côté.” 

The event, produced in cooperation with RDI économie and hosted by Gérald Fillion, will have two parts. Beginning at 5 p.m., the candidates will each have the opportunity to present an overview of their platform with respect to economic development and the city. A debate among the candidates will follow, which will be broadcast live on RDI beginning at 6 p.m.
