Press Release

Andrew T. Molson named chairman of the board
of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal for 2011-2012

Montréal, November 2, 2011 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal held its annual meeting yesterday, during which members elected their board of directors for 2011-2012. Andrew T. Molson, chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Company, was appointed chairman of the board for a one-year term. He succeeds Sylvain Vincent, managing partner at Ernst & Young for Eastern Canada.

“Montréal is currently one of the most dynamic places in North America,” said Mr. Molson, the new chairman of the board for the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “Major projects continue to develop in spite of the world economic situation. Against such a backdrop, the importance of an organization that the business community and the entire city can count on has never been more vital. The Board of Trade is at the centre of our society’s important issues, and it makes a real contribution to its progress. So it is with great joy that I accept the chairmanship for 2011-2012.”

“I am even more delighted to take on the role of chairman of the board of the Board of Trade the year that Molson is celebrating its 225th anniversary,” Mr. Molson said. “This sign of confidence from the business community is a great way to recognize Molson’s contribution to our city’s economy.”

A seventh-generation member of the Molson brewing family, Andrew Molson is also a partner and vice-chairman of RES PUBLICA Consulting Group, a Montréal-based holding and management company of leading professional services firms offering strategic public relations counsel to a wide range of businesses. RES PUBLICA owns NATIONAL Public Relations Inc., Canada’s largest public relations firm, and Cohn & Wolfe Ð Canada, another industry leader.

Mr. Molson became a member of the Quebec Bar in 1995 after studying law at Université Laval in Québec City. He also holds a bachelor of arts degree from Princeton University and a master of science in corporate governance and ethics from University of London (Birkbeck College) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Mr. Molson serves on the board of directors of a number of organizations, including DundeeWealth Inc., Groupe Deschênes Inc., Montréal International, the Montréal Canadiens, Concordia University, the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations and the Molson Foundation, a family foundation dedicated to the betterment of Canadian society. In April 2011 he was named board chairman of the Fondation du maire: le Montréal inc. de demain. He also serves as Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Royal Montreal Regiment, and Honorary Commissioner of the Quebec Council of Scouts Canada.
