All for Montréal: the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal
calls on the public to support the city

Montréal, May 29, 2012 – As the summer months and festival season approach, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is calling upon the population of the metropolitan region to commit itself to supporting Montréal. We are all able to revitalize the businesses that have been affected by the events of recent weeks.

“We are inviting all those who love Montréal to come celebrate their city, by going to their favourite restaurants, attending a show in a venue, and shopping in their preferred stores. Whatever one's opinion about the current debate may be, we must take care of our city and its artisans,” stated Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal.

“We encourage all Quebecers to return to their usual summer activities. Formula One fans—enjoy your Grand Prix. Jazz lovers, those who dream of hearing music beneath urban stars—reserve your tickets for the fast approaching festivals. Those who believe that humour can soothe the soul—come laugh with us,” added Michel Leblanc.

“Famous for its festive nature and its boldness, Montréal is a city that knows how to live. We have developed a unique recipe that combines urban life and creativity, and that is the envy of many other big cities. Let us be proud and stand together. Montréal needs it,” concluded Mr. Leblanc.

The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is made up of some 7,000 members. Its mission is to represent the interests of the business community of Greater Montréal and to provide individuals, merchants, and local businesses of all sizes with a variety of specialized services to help them achieve their full potential in terms of innovation, productivity, and competitiveness. The Board of Trade is Quebec's leading private economic development organization.
