Montréal, July 15, 2016 – As part of Startupfest, yesterday the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and Ubisoft presented the second edition of InnoBahn at the Phi Centre in Montréal. Seven start-ups vied to impress representatives of National Bank and ROBIC with their innovative solutions. Two were selected by the major corporations for a pilot project: Osedea and Folks Interactive.

Beyond individual meetings, how can National Bank offer an outstanding, distinctive and unique customer experience to show its appreciation?
Every year National Bank supports many events, and its directors and representatives do not always recognize guests as they arrive.
What is unique about this pilot project is that tools and algorithms sort and filter the list of participants by relevance, and there is a survey system for taking short quizzes and evaluating the customer experience. The application also includes messaging, which allows National Bank representatives to have another way to communicate with clients to offer them gifts or special treatment during the event and organize meetings to help build relationships.
Folks Interactive proposed a personalized web and mobile application using its Ties Networking technology, which allows event participants to connect based on shared interests, in specific contexts.
How do you digitize the management process for drafts of invoices and partially or completely automate the processes?
ROBIC’s accounting for activities is managed by software that includes timesheets and billing, but that is not designed to allow tracking, sharing or annotating drafts of invoices between team members.
The application uses a collaborative process to simplify managing draft invoices and facilitate their approval. This saves the team time, increases productivity and reduces the risk of error.
Osedea proposed a solution of email and SMS notifications for tracking billing.
Eighteen start-ups registered for the second edition of InnoBahn to respond to a challenge from a large company. Each one was guided by Hyperliens consultants and took part in preparatory sessions. National Bank and ROBIC selected seven start-ups to present their innovative solution to close to 200 spectators at InnoBahn.
“We are building on the momentum created at the first edition of InnoBahn, to showcase our rich start-up ecosystem,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “Startupfest was the perfect opportunity to do this. With this close collaboration, we are promoting innovations by local start-ups and enabling meetings with major players. The phenomenon of open innovation became a reality during the second edition of InnoBahn. We witnessed dynamic exchanges that put the creativity of start-ups to the test by tackling challenges issued by large companies.”
“I am proud of this second InnoBahn,” said Francis Baillet, Vice-President of Corporate Affairs at Ubisoft. “We are seeing a great deal of interest from start-ups and the business community, which suggests that this is a structuring process that will generate innovation. I encourage Montrealers to take part in upcoming editions, whether by proposing a challenge or a solution, or simply witnessing the largely unrecognized genius of local entrepreneurs.”
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal’s InnoBahn event is made possible through the support of Ubisoft and organized in cooperation with Hyperliens consultants, the Table d’action en entrepreneuriat de Montréal – supported by the Ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation – ROBIC and Startupfest.
